CONDG will be hosting lightning talks at our meeting on Thursday, September 23rd at 6:00 PM.
What is a lightning talk? Glad you asked!
According to the true, accurate and unassailable web storehouse of all information in the universe, Wikipeida, a lightning talks is:
… a short presentation given at a conference or similar forum. Unlike other presentations, lightning talks last only a few minutes and several will usually be delivered in a single period by different speakers
If you’ve been thinking of getting into speaking, but are not sure that you’re ready for a full-length user group or Code Camp style presentation, lightning talks are a great way to get started. If you’re a seasoned speaker who has a new idea for a talk but want to see if there’s interest a lightning talk is a good way to do some “market research.” We will also have a prize for the best lightning talk, so if you want to win stuff, a lightning talk maybe a way to do that.
If you would like to give a 10-15 minute lightning talk at the September CONDG meeting, send an e-mail to contact@condg.org. The list and schedule will be published on the 13th, so be sure to get your submission in by the 12th.
